Pistons for Patriots
Participant, Vendor, Sponsor, Celebrity Guest, Entertainment & Exhibitor Code of Conduct
This Code of Conduct (“Agreement”) is established by Pistons for Patriots, its organizers, affiliates, representatives, volunteers, agents, sponsors, and event administrators (collectively, the “Event Organizer”).
This Agreement applies to all participants, vendors, sponsors, celebrity guests, entertainers,exhibitors, media representatives, vehicle entrants, contractors, volunteers, and any other approved individuals or entities (collectively, “Participants”).
By registering for, paying for, attending, appearing at, performing at, sponsoring, vending, exhibiting, promoting, or otherwise participating in Pistons for Patriots, Participants acknowledge, accept, and agree to comply with this Agreement.
No signature is required for this Agreement to be valid and enforceable.
1. Purpose and Event Standard
Pistons for Patriots is a veteran-support, community-centered, family-friendly car show and public event intended to honor service, support veterans, celebrate automotive culture, and provide a safe, respectful, professional, and welcoming environment for all attendees, including men, women, children, families, veterans, sponsors, vendors, guests, celebrities, entertainers,
vehicle owners, and the general public.
Participation is a privilege and not an entitlement. The Event Organizer reserves the right to approve, deny, restrict, suspend, terminate, or remove any Participant, display, performance, product, vehicle, booth, promotion, signage, merchandise, or activity that violates this Agreement or is otherwise determined to be inconsistent with the purpose, values, image, safety, or family-friendly nature of the event.
2. Required Family-Friendly Conduct
Participants must conduct themselves at all times in a professional, respectful, courteous, and family-appropriate manner. Participants shall avoid behavior, language, attire, displays, performances, merchandise, advertising, promotional material, or interactions that would reasonably be considered inappropriate for a family-friendly public event where children are present.
Participants shall not engage in or promote any of the following:
a. Profane, vulgar, lewd, obscene, sexually explicit, threatening, abusive, intimidating, or degrading language or behavior;
b. Harassment, bullying, stalking, intimidation, unwanted physical contact, or aggressive conduct toward any person;
c. Sexualized conduct, gestures, performances, comments, clothing, displays, imagery, or promotional material inappropriate for a family environment;
d. Discriminatory, hateful, or demeaning conduct or messaging toward any person or group;
e. Conduct that creates fear, discomfort, humiliation, hostility, disruption, or an unsafe environment;
f. Public intoxication, illegal drug use, disorderly conduct, fighting, threats, or unsafe behavior;
g. Unauthorized use of fireworks, pyrotechnics, weapons, hazardous materials, drones, amplified sound, open flames, or other restricted items;
h. Unauthorized political campaigning, demonstrations, protests, solicitation, or messaging not pre-approved by the Event Organizer;
i. Any activity that violates applicable law, venue rules, permit requirements, or instructions from event staff or authorities.
3. Attire, Appearance and Public Presentation
All attire, costumes, uniforms, promotional clothing, booth apparel, performance clothing, and public-facing presentation must be appropriate for a family-friendly community event.
The Event Organizer may require modification, covering, removal, or discontinuation of any attire, display, signage, product, vehicle decoration, image, flag, prop, or promotional material deemed inappropriate, including content that is vulgar, sexually suggestive, obscene, excessively revealing, profane, threatening, hateful, discriminatory, unsafe, or inconsistent with the event’s standards.
4. Vendor, Sponsor, Booth and Merchandise Standards
All products, merchandise, giveaways, signage, displays, banners, printed materials, digital media, demonstrations, performances, and promotional messaging must be suitable for a family audience.
The following may not be displayed, sold, distributed, or promoted without prior written approval:
a. Adult-themed, sexually explicit, profane, vulgar, or drug-related materials;
b. Content involving nudity, lewd imagery, graphic violence, or hate-based messaging;
c. Unsafe products, weapons, fireworks, or restricted items;
d. Materials that conflict with the event’s mission or public image;
e. Undisclosed products or services not approved during the application process.
The Event Organizer may require immediate modification or removal of any non-compliant materials or activities.
5. Celebrity Guests, Entertainment, Media and Public Appearances
Celebrity guests, entertainers, media representatives, performers, influencers, featured guests, announcers, hosts, and public-facing Participants understand that they may be viewed as representatives of the event while participating.
All public appearances, autograph sessions, meet-and-greet activities, interviews, stage appearances, social media activity conducted at or in connection with the event, promotional comments, performances, and audience interactions must be consistent with the family-friendly
and veteran-support purpose of the event.
Participant agrees not to use their appearance, performance, booth, stage time, celebrity platform, media presence, or promotional access to engage in conduct or messaging that is vulgar, sexually explicit, hostile, discriminatory, excessively political, unsafe, disruptive, or otherwise inconsistent with the values and public image of Pistons for Patriots.
6. Respectful Treatment of All Persons
Participant agrees to treat all individuals with dignity and respect, including attendees, children, families, veterans, active-duty military personnel, first responders, sponsors, vendors, staff, volunteers, vehicle owners, entertainers, media, security personnel, venue representatives, and other Participants.
Participant shall not refuse service, deny interaction, harass, insult, threaten, ridicule, embarrass, exclude, or mistreat any person based on personal characteristics protected by applicable law or based on any other improper or inappropriate reason.
The Event Organizer will enforce this Agreement based on conduct, content, safety, event standards, contractual compliance, and the family-friendly nature of the event.
7. Alcohol, Drugs, Smoking and Intoxication
Participant shall not possess, use, distribute, sell, or promote illegal drugs or controlled substances at the event.
Alcohol may only be served, sold, consumed, promoted, or distributed if expressly authorized in writing by the Event Organizer and permitted by applicable law, venue requirements, licensing, and insurance requirements.
Participant shall not appear, perform, operate a booth, drive, interact with the public, or represent the event while impaired, intoxicated, or otherwise unable to conduct themselves safely and professionally.
Smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated areas, if any, and are not permitted in booths, family activity areas, indoor areas, near children’s activities, or other restricted locations.
8. Safety, Venue Rules and Event Instructions
Participant agrees to comply with all event rules, venue rules, parking rules, fire lanes, load-in/load-out procedures, security instructions, safety requirements, insurance requirements, health requirements, and instructions from the Event Organizer.
Participant shall not block exits, aisles, emergency access, fire lanes, sidewalks, accessible routes, vendor spaces, staging areas, or public pathways.
Participant is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, organized, and professional area, including any booth, display, vehicle, trailer, tent, equipment, signage, electrical cord, generator, merchandise, or promotional setup.
Participant may not operate any vehicle, equipment, generator, sound system, performance element, demonstration, or display in a manner that creates risk, excessive noise, disruption, fumes, fire hazard, property damage, or unsafe conditions.
9. Social Media, Public Statements and Event Branding
Participant agrees not to misuse the Pistons for Patriots name, logo, branding, sponsor marks, veteran-support messaging, charitable purpose, or affiliated organization names.
Participant may not represent themselves as an official spokesperson, partner, beneficiary, organizer, authorized agent, or representative of Pistons for Patriots unless specifically authorized in writing.
Participant agrees not to publish, post, stream, record, or distribute content from or related to the event in a way that is misleading, defamatory, vulgar, harassing, discriminatory, unsafe, exploitative of children, damaging to the event, or inconsistent with the family-friendly mission of Pistons for Patriots.
The Event Organizer may require Participant to remove or correct promotional materials, social media content, or public statements that misrepresent the event or violate this Agreement.
10. Right to Deny, Remove, Cancel or Restrict Participation
The Event Organizer reserves the right, in its sole and reasonable discretion, to take any action it determines necessary to protect the safety, reputation, purpose, family-friendly environment, veteran-support mission, sponsors, attendees, children, families, vendors, guests, venue, or overall integrity of the event.
Such action may include, without limitation:
a. Verbal warning;
b. Written warning;
c. Requirement to modify attire, signage, booth materials, merchandise, display, conduct, performance, vehicle presentation, or promotional activity;
d. Removal of specific products, signs, materials, props, vehicles, or displays;
e. Temporary suspension of participation;
f. Relocation of booth, display, vehicle, or appearance area;
g. Cancellation of appearance, performance, sponsorship, vendor space, registration, or participation;
h. Immediate removal from the event premises;
i. Referral to venue security or law enforcement if necessary;
j. Denial of participation in future Pistons for Patriots events.
Participant understands and agrees that violation of this Agreement may result in removal or cancellation without refund, credit, reimbursement, damages, lost profits, appearance fees, travel reimbursement, booth reimbursement, sponsorship reimbursement, or other compensation, unless otherwise required by a separate written agreement signed by the Event Organizer.
11. No Refund for Violation
Participant acknowledges that participation fees, sponsorship fees, vendor fees, registration fees, booth fees, appearance-related payments, deposits, or other event-related payments may be non-refundable if Participant is denied participation, removed, suspended, cancelled, or restricted due to violation of this Agreement, failure to follow event instructions, failure to comply with venue
rules, or conduct inconsistent with the event’s family-friendly standards.
12. Responsibility for Representatives and Guests
Participant is responsible for the conduct of all individuals appearing, working, performing, volunteering, assisting, staffing, promoting, selling, displaying, or attending on Participant’s behalf, including employees, agents, contractors, assistants, family members, representatives, booth staff, models, performers, drivers, vehicle owners, volunteers, guests, or invited attendees.
A violation by any such person may be treated as a violation by Participant.\
13. Compliance With Law
Participant agrees to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, regulations, permit requirements, venue rules, licensing requirements, insurance requirements, and public safety directives.
Nothing in this Agreement is intended to authorize unlawful discrimination, retaliation, harassment, or violation of protected legal rights. The Event Organizer will administer this Agreement in a manner intended to protect safety, enforce family-friendly standards, maintain event integrity, and comply with applicable law.
14. Indemnification
Participants agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Event Organizer and associated parties from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from their participation or violation of this Agreement.
15. Event Organizer Discretion
The Event Organizer retains the authority to interpret and enforce this Agreement and to make final decisions regarding participation and compliance.
16. Acknowledgment and Acceptance
Participation in Pistons for Patriots constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of this Code of Conduct.
By registering, attending, participating, or engaging in any event-related activity, Participants confirm that they have read, understand, and agree to comply with this Agreement. Failure to comply may result in removal, cancellation of participation, loss of fees, and denial of future participation.
